WoW UK Women of Wearables is co-founded by Michelle Hua and Marija Butkovic based in London and Manchester.

The aim of WoW UK is to inspire, support and connect women in wearables, Internet of Things and Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality through hosting events and delivering wearable tech workshops.

Though this, they can help reduce the gender and diversity gap that is apparent in the tech and wearable tech industry.

Wearable tech is a new industry that brings together so many industries that everyone in tech can add value and meet each other. Not only does the wearable tech bring different industries together, it can also bring diverse people together. Such industries include:

  • Electrical engineering
  • Software engineering
  • Fashion
  • Textiles and Smart textiles
  • Academia
  • Material science
  • Developers
  • Product management and
  • Product design

When we start the conversation with people from different industries, we start to understand where the challenges lie and work out ways on how we can solve those issues.
